Koffex

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide Syrup

Koffex us an antitussive or cough suppressant used to relieve dry, hacking coughs. The
medication is also used to control cough caused by flu, cold, and other inhaled irritants.

Strength:
Each 250mL bottle contain 15mg/5mL of the active ingredient.

Form:
Syrup

Dosage:
Adults and teens 12 years and over. 2 teaspoonfuls (10mL) every 6 to 8 hours. The
maximum recommended dose is 4 times a day. Not recommended for children under 12
years of age. May be taken with or without food.

Indication:
Temporary relief of symptomatic non-productive cough caused by irritation on throat
and bronchi from colds and inhaled irritants.

Contents:
Artificial colouring and flavoring, citric acid, potassium sorbate, propylene glycol, purified
water, sodium benzoate and sucrose.

Warnings:
- Consult a physician before administering to patients:
o Asthmatic patients
o Patients having chronic lung disease or shortness of breath
o Pregnant or breast-feeding
o Patients taking medication for depression including MAO inhibitors
- Consult with the physician if cough persists after used for 7 days.
- Consult with a physician if accompanied by fever or excessive secretions.
- Side effects can be nausea and vomiting, headache, dizziness, and constipation.
Storage:
Store between 15-30 degrees Celsius. Keep this product and all medicine out of the
reach of children.
