B. Lesson Proper:
Motivation
The teacher will ask the learners their favorite dance. Afterwards, the teacher will play a
video of Maglalatik dance.
The teacher will ask, Are you familiar with the dance presented?
The teacher will ask, What are the materials they used while performing maglalatik dance?
Presentation
The teacher will present the lesson through video downloaded from youtube.

Discussion
Maglalatik is a war dance depicting a mock battle between the Moros and Christians
over “Latik” (residue left after the coconut milk has been boiled).
Based on the legend, Moros were successful in getting the “latik” and made the
Christians decide to offer peace by way of baptism.
The dance became popular during the popular during the Spanish Era and in the
barrios of Loma and Zapote of Biñan,Laguna. It became part of the celebrations
during fiestas and religious gatherings.
Performed by males using 10 pieces of coconut shells or bao.
C. Application
The teacher will group the class into four. They will have board work activity.
The teacher will ask following questions. Each group will have 30 seconds to
answer per question. The group who will get more correct answers will declare winner.
Questions:

2. The prize of a winner in the saide war .
3. The performers of maglalatik dance.
4. Number of coconut used in maglalatik dance.
5. Uniform of the performers of maglalatik dance.

The teacher will ask the learners .
Ask : What is the history of Maglalatik dance? Why it is important to study this folk dance?

The teacher will recap that Maglalatik started with war dance depicting a mock battle between
the Moros and Christians over “Latik” (residue left after the coconut milk has been boiled).
It is important because it helps keep tradition alive, connects people to heritage , builds
community bonds, promotes physical activity and allows for artistic expression.
