 Jane Goodall is a United Nations Messenger of Peace Ethologist. She was

born in London, United Kingdom, on April 3, 1934. When she was a child she
was always surrounded by animals and she dreamed of knowing and writing
about the animals of Africa. When she grew up she made her dream come
true and she traveled to Kenya where she worked with the famous
anthropologist Louis Leakey. Then, in 1960, she traveled to Tanzania in
order to investigate for the first time the life of wild chimpanzees in the area.
She developed her research for more than six decades and continues to this
day. Her research fascinated the scientific community and the entire world
through National Geographic documentaries, among others. In addition to
this, she wrote more than 26 books, scientific articles, and productions for
film and television. She is currently 88 years old and continues to receive
awards for her research on chimpanzees.
