SUBJECT: PARTICIPATION IN THE SEMINAR ENTITLED “QUALITY

MATTERS: ENHANCING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE THROUGH
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND LIFELONG LEARNING.”

DATE: April 24, 2024

Republic Act (RA) No. 11522 establishes May 18 as the National Higher Education Day. To
emphasize the importance of higher education in the Philippines and to commemorate the 30th
CHED Founding anniversary with the theme, “Transformative and Resilient Philippine Higher
Education” this Office has scheduled activities for the month of May 2024.

CHEDRO VII in collaboration with Lapulapu Cebu International College and the Interim Officers of
the Private Higher Education Institutions in Region VII will conduct on May 8, 2024, 8:30 am a
seminar entitled “Quality Matters: Enhancing Educational Excellence through Continuous
Improvement and Lifelong Learning” with CHED COMMISSIONER HON. ETHEL AGNES
PASCUA-VALENZUELA as the Resource Person.

Only TWO (2) ONSITE participants preferably the Presidents/Officers-ln-Charge and Vice
President for Academic Affairs or the Quality Assurance Director of higher education institutions
are expected to attend due to limited slots. Registration is free. Strictly NO walk-in is allowed
hence, the need to register on or before May 3, 2024 through

College Auditorium, Basak-Cagodoy-Bankal-Buaya Rd., Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. For participants

The objective of this activity is to explore and discuss effective quality assurance and lifelong
learning practices in higher education institutions, offering a unique opportunity for professional
growth and development. Through this activity, participants will gain valuable insights and
strategies to maintain high academic standards, enhance institutional reputation, comply with
regulatory requirements, improve student learning outcomes, promote continuous improvement,
and facilitate global recognition of qualifications. The expected outcome of this seminar is to inspire
and equip HEIs with the tools to further enhance the quality of education.
