MODULE 1- 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION


I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students can:
1. Analyze the concept of 21st-century education by comparing it to
traditional education using a concept map.
2. Examine the critical attributes of 21st-century education, and the role of
the 21st-century teacher, and identify innovative tools for learning in an
interactive discussion.
3. Reflect on the experience of practicing 21 st-century education and draw
important life lessons and principles from a research abstract.

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
a. Prayer
An assigned student will lead the opening prayer.
b. Greetings
After the prayer, the teacher will greet the students, and the students are
expected to do the same.
c. Attendance
The teacher will remind the class secretary to record the attendance and take
note of the absentees.

B. REVIEW
1. From your prior knowledge, what do you know about 21st century?

C. ACTIVITY
Name of the Activity: “Share it! Compare it!”
Instructions for the Activity:
a. Pairing Up:
The facilitator will instruct the students to go to their respective
groups for this activity.
b. Discussion and Brainstorming:
Within a two-minute timeframe, each group will engage in discussion
and brainstorming regarding the characteristics of "traditional and 21st-
century education," (in terms of attributes, teachers, teaching and learning
methods, and learning environment) documenting key terms they will
generate a concept map.
c. Sharing Insights:
The facilitator will select one representative from the class to share
their key insights and definitions of 21st-century education.
d. Enriching the Discussion:
The facilitator will express appreciation and contribute additional insights to
enrich the discussion on the term further.
