 ReeCha
Far as the northern region is concerned, some places in Jaffna can be mentioned
as tourist destinations. Apart from that Reecha is a great place established 6 years
ago by Baskaran kandaih in Kilinochchi district. ReeCha Organic (Pvt) Limited
is a private company duly registered under the laws of Sri Lanka. It covers an
area of 150 acres. ReeCha has several departments and restaurants, but I am
continuing the training with hospitality team. So I study about Kurinji resort's
services in ReeCha.

Kurinji resort (Cabana)

Set in Kilinochchi, 7.7 km from Elephant Pass War Memorial, ReeCha Organic
Resort Jaffna offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private
parking, a fitness centre and a garden. Featuring a terrace, the 4-star hotel has air-
conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. The accommodation features room
service and a 24-hour front desk for guests. At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with
a desk. Reecha Organic Resort Jaffna provides some units with pool views, and
rooms have a balcony. At the accommodation all rooms have bed linen and

towels. Reecha Organic Resort Jaffna offers a vegetarian or halal breakfast. At
the hotel you will find a restaurant serving American, Chinese and British cuisine.
Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. Nilavarai Well is 46
km from Reecha Organic Resort Jaffna, while Nallur Kandaswamy Temple is 50
km from the property. The nearest airport is Jaffna International Airport, 51 km
from the accommodation.

Resort has rooms, restaurant, bar, gym, swimming pool and natural garden. The
restaurant serves the people very delicious food in western style, the bar serves
high quality liquor in a modern style and rooms provides to the foreign and local
people very high and comfortable services in modern style. The swimming pool
is designed to suit the current temperature and attract guests.

Each department plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel
and providing guests with a positive experience.

• Front office department

This department handles guest check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest

inquiries. It's often the first point of contact for guests. There are 05 front office
employees in Kurinji.

• Housekeeping department

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and ensuring
overall cleanliness and comfort for guests.

• Food and Beverage department

This department includes restaurants, bars, room service, and catering. It's
responsible for food preparation, service, and ensuring a pleasant dining
experience.

 • Kitchen department

The kitchen department, often referred to as the culinary or food production

department, is a vital part of a hotel's operation. The kitchen department plays a
crucial role in ensuring the quality, variety, and safety of food served throughout
the hotel, whether it's in the restaurants, room service, or banquet events. There
are 07 employees in this department.

• Engineering and Maintenance

Responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical infrastructure, including

plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance.

Suggestions

During my training period I observed some flaws

• Employees suffer mainly due to lack of trolleys to transporting luggage,

room service food and housekeeping equipment
• Lack of telephone in rooms
• Delay in food order due to lack of micro oven
• Lack of hot cupboard
• Separate Hand washing area
• Disabled room
• Steps for disabled person
• Use hair net to kitchen staff when they cooking time

By addressing these can further improve the hotel
