1 Calculation of Respondents

The calculation of the sample size will be conducted using the formula devised by Slovin (1960).

n = N/1+Ne²

Where: n = Sample size (smaller group)

N = Population Size (bigger group)

e = 5% (margin of error with 95% confidence level)

n = 15,755/ [1 + 15,755(0.05) ²]

n = 390.096 say 390 respondents

The calculation above suggests a target of 390 participants for this research, and this sample size
specifically pertains to the questionnaire designed for the residents of Labrador, Pangasinan. It's
important to note that the data frequencies in the study will be derived solely from respondents falling
within the age bracket of 14,296 (62%) comprised the working group with age 15 to 64 and 1,459 (6%)
old age group with age over 64.
