MRI LUMBAR SPINE

Technique:
T1-T2 sagittals &Axials, STIR coronals; T2 TIRM coronals & sagittals.

Findings:

L1-L2: No disc desiccative changes. No significant disc bulge. Bilateral exiting and traversing nerve roots
appear intact. Bilateral facetal joints are normal. No abnormal ligamentum flavum thickening noted.

L2-L3: No disc desiccative changes. No significant disc bulge. Bilateral exiting and traversing nerve roots
appear intact. Bilateral facetal joints are normal. No abnormal ligamentum flavum thickening noted.

L3-L4: Bilateral ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. No disc desiccative changes. No significant disc
bulge. Bilateral exiting and traversing nerve roots appear intact. Bilateral facetal joints are normal.

L4-L5: Diffuse annular disc bulge, posterocentral disc protrusion with disc dessicatory
changes, bilateral facet joint arthropathy causing moderate to severe canal narrowing, right
mild left moderate neural foraminal narrowing. Impingement over the bilateral descending L5
nerve roots.

L5-S1: Diffuse annular disc bulge causing mild thecal sac indentation. No disc desiccative changes.
Bilateral exiting and traversing nerve roots appear intact. Bilateral facetal joints are normal. No abnormal
ligamentum flavum thickening noted.

Sacroiliac joints appear normal. No evidence of altered signal intensity noted.

Bilateral psoas muscles appear normal.
