TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR A Three PORT GLOVE BOX WORKSTATION

Glove Box Workstation


 Modular Glove box having 3 glove ports (220 mm diameter in PP, O ring sealed; one pair of butyl
gloves should come with the system, not less than 0.4 mm thickness).
 Tightness of glove box according to O2-increase method. Class 1 glove box (according to
International Standards ISO 10648-2 – Leak rate < 0.05 Vol%/h)
 Automatic adjustable pressure regulation must be possible in the Glove Box without connecting
to vacuum pump and without foot pedal.
 Glove Box Workstation material must be of Stainless steel US304L ( Low Carbon Steel 1.4306)
With internal dimensions 900mm x 1500mm x 725mm [H x L x D], +/-5%
 Front panel should be of Sapphire coated Polycarbonate material
 Colour Touch PLC Control for operation of all Glove box functions - Including flushing mode,
graphical trend of box pressure, oxygen and moisture levels etc. Glovebox PLC must be able to
save up to 2 months of data.
 2 Dust HEPA filter 0.3 micron, class H13, should be included for the inlet and outlet of the
circulating gas
 Six Height Adjustable, Stainless Steel shelves to be included
 LED lighting system from ceiling of glove box controlled by manual switch
 304 L Stainless steel frame with casters and height adjustable foots
 Glove Box must have an Oil based Pressure Safety Valve for safe disposal of gases
 Pressure regulation of the Glove box must be automatic & independent of vacuum pump &
foot pedal .Vacuum pump should be used for doing vacuum cycles only.

Big Vacuum chamber


Big vacuum chamber with manual Cycles of dimension 400 mm x 600 mm (DxL) stainless steel
(US304L) with stainless steel Sliding Tray. Leak rate < 10ˉ5 mbar.l/s Fitted with analog vacuum
gauge. Must be equipped with a 3 way valve to control filling and vacuum.

Mini Vacuum chamber


Mini- Antechamber -150 (D) x 400 (L) mm. Must be equipped with a 3 way valve to control filling and
vacuum.

Gas Purification
Re-generable Filter for gas purification is required which maintains <1 ppm O2 and H2O level
capacity. Purification Capacity should be at least 30 L for O2 and 1000 g for Moisture. Purification
loads must not be less than 8Kg (4Kg Copper catalyst & 4Kg Molecular sieve)

Regeneration
Automatic regeneration Sequence with nitrogen N2 or Argon (5-10%) controlled through PLC.

Circulation Unit
Must be fitted with a Brushless blower of minimum 30m3/hour with noise less than 47dB and should
not require chiller or heat exchanger.

Oxygen Analyser
Ranges in ppm: (1-1000 ppm). Electronics: Integrated microprocessor control, selection of ranges,
calibration. Dual display of values – Touch Screen and inline display on the analyser to verification of
values in the touch screen. Data Readings: 2 wire loop powered connection via a 4-20 mA Analog
output. Accuracy: +/- 1 ppm in full range. Repeatability: +/- 1% in full range Resolution: 0.1 ppm in
full range

Moisture Analyser
Capacitive sensor type, Measuring Range: 0 – 1000 ppm, delivered with calibration certificate –
Technology requiring no maintenance with phosphoric acid or similar.

Pressure Regulation

Automatic Pressure regulation without having any dependence on the Vacuum Pump & Foot
Pedal. Pressure regulation required without foot pedal and the vacuum pump will have to be
switched-off when vacuum chamber(s) will not be used (ENERGY SAVING mode).

One Oil based Pressure safety release valve must be present with HEPA filter for automatic
mechanical discharge of exceeded gases in the glove box , must have fast reactive pressure
adjustment, increased comfort in handlings, excess gas discharge should be possible even in case of
power break for safety regulations. Low noise level 49 dB (A) under purification and pressure
regulation. The Glove Box & Purification unit must be from the same manufacturer (Documentary
evidence to be submitted by Manufacturer)

Refrigerator
Deep Freezer of volume at least 26 litres capacity with multiple trays inside with adjustable height.
Temperature Range up to – 40 °C.

Cold Well System –The Glove Box must have an integrated cold well System to carry out the low
temperature reactions, with cover:
- Dimensions of the well: 150mm Dia x 200mm H
- including Dewar supports and clamping collar
- including Dewar

Solvent Trap
Activated Charcoal Solvent trap (Minimum 7Kg).
Must be equipped with by-pass valves to enable easy replacement of the activated charcoal.

Vacuum Pump
• Rotary vane pump with Oil mist filter, Oil re-circulation
• Automatic gas ballast control, > 21m3/h, dual stage

Valves/Piping:
Main purifier valves should be of electro-pneumatic. All piping and components must be in stainless
steel (SS 304L - Low Carbon Steel)

Feedthroughs
 Minimum 1 leak light electrical feed through Bi + T 220V
 At least 4 blanked leak tight feedthroughs at the back side
 1 Vacuum Feed through with ball valve

Critical Terms & Conditions


The Glove Box & Purification unit must be from the same manufacturer (Documentary evidence to
be submitted by Manufacturer)

Manufacturer must have sufficient (minimum 35) installations of the Purified Glove Box
Instrument in India with at least 15 in IIT’s/IISER’s. The list of users has to be provided along with
contact details of the user.

Satisfactory performance letter of the instrument from at least last 3 years needs to be submitted.

The documentary proof of installation in India needs to be submitted along with all contact details
of users.

Direct Presence of Service team along with contact details to be provided. Complete User List
along with contact details to be provided.

Certifications Required from Manufacturer: ISO, CE, and Class 1 Tightness Certificate of the
instrument.

At least 3 Order Copies of the same model sold in last 18 Months.
