Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and/or
exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks.

Ex: facebook, instagram, linkedin.

The more time spent on social media can lead to cyberbullying, social anxiety, depression, and
exposure to content that is not age appropriate.

Social media creates a bad impact on both children and adults.

Cyberbullying is when someone who uses technology to threaten, embarrass,or target another
person.

Social media has a profound impact on modern relationship, both positive and negative. While it can
ce a great way to stay connected with loved ones and find resources and support, it can also distract
from face to face communication, promote unrealistic expectations and facilitate jealousy and
insecurity

Bad impacts of social media on children.

Too much time on social media can lead to bullying, depression, and anxiety. Spending more than
four hours a day online significantly increases a child's risk of becoming hyperactive and inattentive,
and decreases feelings of self-worth. Social media may be one of the main factors affecting children's
mental health.
Children are too much addicted to phones because of social media and hence don't know what's
happening around them.

Bad impacts of social media on adults.

multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for
depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media may promote
negative experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life or appearance.

How can you prevent from being addicted to social media?

Guided breathing exercises that can help reduce anxiety and stress associated with constant social
media use. Encourage yourself to take regular digital detox breaks and spend time in nature or
engage in self-reflection activities.

Go on self date(without digital items) and know yourself better.

Read some books.

Delete all the Social media apps.

Get yourself enrolled in some classes of your choice.

Go out and play.

Spend time with your family,friends and people you are comfortable with
