2. Step by step work instruction

Step by step work instruction

The operation can only be proceeded with a windspeed lower than:
► 20m/s

2.1. Visual inspection

The inspection of the anchor points of the top of the lifeline must be performed prior to lift the section.

After visual inspection, contact the quality inspector in case of defects

Step 1
Visual inspection. Check:
1. Upper support on upper tower section
• It shall be centered on the first 3 reinforced rungs of the ladder
• Check absence of blows, rust or deformities
2. Absorbing system
• It has not been tampered with
• Check the permanent marker marks on the screws.
3. Cable
• Without crushed, folded, cut, frayed, etc.
• The set and the cable are installed in its position with the mechanical absorbing system; parallel
to the support without bending, downward
4. Lower support or any of its parts is not missing.
5. Abcense of rust on any of the components.

2.2. Assembly the lifeline

The lifeline (A) comes factory-fitted to the upper
tower section, rolled up and secured to the ladder
at the bottom of the section

2. Step by step work instruction

Keep the platform hatchway closed while working

Situate the lifeline on the platform avoiding tangled up with any other cable or with the ladder itself

Step 2

Prepare the lifeline for unloading:

6. Cut the cable tie that fix the roll to the ladder
7. Place the lifeline on the platform
8. Keep the registration plates
9. Make a knot at the tip of the rope
• The weight helps its descent through the tower

Never drop the entire roll down the ladder shaft

The impacts could damage tower parts and the cable itself

Unload the registration plates, since they shall be placed on each of the sections together with the rest
of the labels, see OP ASS LABELS IN SECTIONS SGX.X (ACCORDING TO ASSEMBLY MANUAL
PROJECT)

Step 3
Rout the lifeline:
1. Position of the workers during the operation
• 1 worker climbs down to the next platform
• 2 workers lower the lifeline through the hole in the platform (A)
2. Unload the lifeline
• 1 worker begins unrolling the lifeline and
• 1 worker controls the descent
• 1 worker on the next platform collect the tip of the lifeline and must be positioned away from its
projections (B)

Repeat 1, 2 and 3 to lower the lifeline through the remaining platforms until reaching platform
0

3. Check:
• The lifeline is long enough to make a loop and place the cable ties.
• There is no interference along the tower

Step 3

A: Area to unload the lifeline

B: Storage area of the lifeline during the unload (platform below)

The lower support of the lifeline comes preassembled from the factory, on the lower rungs of the ladder
on the top tower section (together with the lifeline rolled up on the ladder).

Step 4
Lower the remaining components to platform 0
1. Dismount from the ladder on the top section:
• The ladder support of the lifeline, nameplate and tensioner
2. Lower the elements to platform 0
► Follow the steps described at:
Product Code Document description

Not included G9X

These rungs must be reinforced with a threaded rod. The lower support must be fitted onto the central
part of the rung so that the welded plate is facing the inside of the ladder.

Review all the welding. Verify that the lower support does not present breakage, pores, blows or
deformities. If so, replace it.

Step 5
Assembly the lower support of the lifeline:
1. Position the support of the lifeline (A) in the last two reinforced steps under the platform of bottom
section
2. Fitted the support
3. Tighten the support with M6 bolts
► According to GPS85001 TIGHT. TORQUE OF STRUC AND ELECTR JOINTS
4. Mark the torque
► According to GPS85001 TIGHT. TORQUE OF STRUC AND ELECTR JOINTS

Step 6
Mounting the cable:
1. Run the cable from the upper area (A) to the lower area (C) through the bushing
2. Keep the nuts loose
3. Check that the screws do not interfere
4. Tighten the lower nut (D) until it touches the lower plate (E)

2. Step by step work instruction

Step 7
Tension the cable
1. Pretensioning. Make 3 actions at once:
• Pull the cable (A) + Pull the bushing (B) + Tighten the screws (C)
2. Tensing the lifeline
• Tighten the nut (D) until the fastening is positioned in the middle of max (E) and min (F)
• Use a ring/fork spanner 17 mm
3. Once the indicator is in the work area (H), tighten the second nut to make a locknut with the unit.
4. Place and tape the cable to 8cm from the nut

A: Cable E: Maximum
B: Bushing F: Minimum
C: Screws G: Minimum use
D: Nuts H: Normal position. F spring = 800N

Step 8
Cut the excess lifeline
1. Protect the area to be cut with insulate tape black
• Situate the insulate tape black at 200 mm from the last cable clamps
2. Cut the excess lifeline with diagonal cutter for electromechanics
3. Fasten the free end of the lifeline with insulate tape black
4. Ensure that the spacers guide the lifeline correctly.

Having completed the assembly of the permanent lifeline, it must be certified for its use.
