chairman of Sangguniang Kabataan in his community with the aim of encouraging
the youth into productive activity like the love for sports.

belongs to.
3. Do you think Allain does his duties according to its importance? Why?
4. If you were Allain, will you do the same? Why?

What is It

In this lesson you will know how social relationships affect your thinking
process as well as how you behave in some situations.

Social relationship affects one’s person thinking process and vice versa. As a
person goes along his journey in life, he is able to meet different people that may
affect his social roles: these are sets of connected behaviors, obligations, beliefs,
duties and norms founded in a society.

Peer is one factor that contributed to the social behavior of youth. Most of the
youth today spend hanging out with friends instead of being with their family. If this
situation occurs frequently and without the parents’ supervision and guidance,
youth might do things incorrectly and become disobedient.

5
As a youth, one of his social roles is being a student. Students are not only
doing their best to get excellent performance inside the classroom but there are also
so many things or roles they portray in their community. They give more time on the
roles they think are the most significant for them.

One simple social role that a student plays in his/her family is to be a good
son/daughter by following simple rules inside and outside his/her house, some of
them are helping their parents in doing household chores and giving respect to the
elderly.

What’s More

Directions: Using the social map below, fill in the circlers with your social obligations
