- Dùng trước danh từ để chỉ danh từ đó thuộc về người nào hoặc vật nào.

Ví dụ:
- This is my schoolbag and that is your schoolbag.
- Her bike is old, but his bike is new.

2. Cách thành lập sở hữu cách của danh từ:

– Thêm ‘s vào sau danh từ số ít và danh từ số nhiều không tận cùng là -s.
Ví dụ: my father’s car
Mary’s dog
The children’s room
– Thêm dấu phẩy (’) vào sau danh từ số nhiều tận cùng là -s
Ví dụ: these pupils’ pens
those students’ bags
my parents’ house
– Những danh từ số ít có tận cùng là “-s” được thành lập bằng cả hai cách:
Ví dụ: the bus’ chairs/ the bus’s chairs
Charles’s mother/ Charles’ mother
– ‘s cũng có thể được dùng sau các cụm từ
Ví dụ: John and Brad’s house
Hien, Nga and Linh ’s teacher
