Synopsis on the Clean and Green Program (Edo Grow 100)

Introduction

Newly appointed trainees in the Ministry of Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional
Development have been introduced to the Clean and Green Program (Edo Grow 100),
championed by Commissioner Isoken Omo and supported Mr. Osikhena Ojor. The program's
objective is to make Edo State a sustainable and environmentally friendly model for urban
development.

Key Highlights

1. Cora City Development: We were briefed on the development of Cora City, a new
sustainable metropolis envisioned as a beacon of clean and green urbanization.
2. Induction Program: We were informed about an upcoming induction program designed
to further integrate us into the ministry's operations and culture.
3. Environmental Standards Training: The first 15 trainees have commenced specialized
training at the University of Benin, focusing on environmental standards and best
practices.
4. Physical Planning and Environmental Protection Education: We received
comprehensive training on the Physical Planning laws and the Environmental Protection
Act, equipping us with the legal framework for our work.
5. Edo State Master Plan: We were introduced to the Edo State Master Plan, a strategic
blueprint for the state's development, emphasizing sustainable urban planning.
6. Hubs and Their Significance: We learned about the concept of hubs, their various
types, and their aims within the context of Edo State's development strategy.

Conclusion

The program training prepares me, as a Mechanical Engineer, to develop sustainable engineering
solutions for urban infrastructure and energy systems, actively shaping a sustainable future for
Edo State.
