Spectral analysis of water samples

Introduction Results and Discussion
The basic premise of the experimental work carried revolves around
spectral analysis of the atomic spectrum of procured water samples
via the utilization of an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The
water samples that have been chosen to undergo the spectral analysis
are then subject to various methods to determine the content and
atomic spectra of the samples and to analyse their properties.

Scope & Objective of the Project

The main objective of the analysis conducted is to examine the
atomic spectra via the atomic absorption spectrophotometer and to
determine the atomic constitution of the samples collected.

A brief study of the instrumentation and principle behind atomic

absorption spectroscopy is done to further understand the working
of the equipment that is being used.

Methodology
The atomic absorption spectrophotometer consists of five key
components. Specifically, light source, burner assembly, optics,
detector, and signal processing.

There are three basic methodologies for AAS analysis, and each has
advantages and disadvantages depending on the type of study
necessary.
There are a variety of elements to consider while selecting which
technique may suit the application, for example-
● Detection limits
The samples have been collected from tubewells and dugwells
● Working range present in multiple locations over Chennai. The samples were
● Speed of analysis prepared and sent for analysis in the atomic absorption
● Automation spectrophotometer. The values of the pH, electrical conductivity
● Sample volume and concentration of various ions are given in the table above.
