The values for minimum radius and end projection, r and P respectively, as specified in Table 2, shall apply to all shape codes (see 7.6).

The dimensions in parentheses are the free dimensions. If a shape given in this table is required but a different dimension is to allow for
the possile deviations, the shape shall be drawn out and given the shape code 99 and the free dimension shall be indicated in
parentheses.

The length of straight between two bends shall be at least 4d, see Figure 6.

Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 6 should be used in the interpretation of ending dimensions.

NOTE 1. The length equations for shape codes 14, 15, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36 and 46 are approximate and where the bend angle is
greater than 45°, the length should be calculated more accurately allowing for the difference between the specified overall dimensions and
the true length measured along the central axis of the bar. When the bending angles approach 90°, it is preferable to specify shape code
99 with a fully dimensioned sketch.

NOTE 2. Five ends or more might be impractical within permitted tolerances

NOTE 3. For shapes with straight and curved lengths (e.g. shape codes 12 13, 22 and 33) the largest practical mandrel size for the
production of a continuous curve is 400 mm. See also Clause 10.

NOTE 4. Stock lengths are available in a limited numer of lengths (e.g. 6m, 12m). Dimension A for shape code 01 should be regarded
as indicative and used for the purpose of calculating total length. Actual delivery lengths should be by agreement with supplier.

ASSUMPTIONS/FURTHER INFORMATION
1) Shape codes 47/51/63 (links) - The total length of the bar is calculated using the formulae to minimize C and D.
2a) Shape code 56 is assumed to be a link with E and F having minimum straight lengths of 10d.
2b) Shape code 56, it is assumed dimension F = E.
3) Shape code 64 - is assumed to be a link with F being equal to minimum end projection with a 10d straight.
4) Shape code 41 - if this shape is used as a link then dimension E should have a minimum 10d straight.
5) Shape code 21 - if this shape is used as a closer for shape code 47 (i.e. used as a link) then the minimum end p
entered manually. Do not used the autofill function (see below).
6) Shape code 33 - C assumed to be not less than P with a minimum 10d straight.

Shape Code 99
There are a number of ways to deal with shape code 99. In each method, complete your bar mark row and enter
dimension 'A' column.
Method 1
Leave a couple of blank rows below your bar mark 99 and insert a sketch (picture file) prepared in a CAD program
paragraph below on how to insert picture files. Picure files can be in many formats but .wmf, .jpg, .gif, .bmp and .d
Method 2
Leave a couple of blank rows below your bar mark 99. Print off your schedule and draw a dimensioned sketch o
dimensions 'A' to 'E' columns.

Inserting sketches and text boxes

The procedure for inserting shape code 99 sketches and text boxes is similar. Text boxes are useful for calling up
500m of H12 bars supplied in random, straight lengths.
Prepare your bar schedule leaving some blank row(s) for your sketch or text box.
Using the SAVE button on the spreadsheet, save your schedule(s) to a bardata spreadsheet file.
