*Date* : [The writer writes the date on which the report was compiled]. For example:

*Topic/Title* : [A short description for the report or a heading which shows the purpose of the

report]. For example:

*Topic* : A report on the soccer competitions held at Chidiya Primary School

Key aspects in report writing

• In the first paragraph, write the purpose of the report and your authority in compiling

such a report.

• Points given in the question must be followed with clear explanations, suggestions,

comments, situations or conditions depending on the nature of the question.

• Points or notes given in the question must be addressed in the way they appear.

• Limit yourself to one idea per sentence. Short, straight-forward sentences are easy to

read.

• Use good and simple language that is easy to follow and understand.

• Give some recommendations and a conclusion

Important concepts to note when writing speech

🟣 Understand what the purpose of your speech is.

🔵 Speeches are often about these things:


✅ To thank someone

✅ Yo congratulate someone

✅ To introduce an expert speaker

✅ To give information

✅ Yo motivate the audience

✅ To persuade the audience to support a cause

🟡 Speeches are always presented to an audience. So when you are writing a speech address it to
the audience.

🔴 Be sincere in what you say

🟤 Please note:

Greet the audience and explain the purpose of your speech in the *introduction*

✳️Thank everyone for coming or listening in the *conclusion*

🔴 A report is always based on facts.

🟢 A report contains facts and information.

🟤 Reports usually have headings. Below are some common headings

✅Title ( here you give a title to your report)

✅ Findings (here you will explain what information you found

✅ Recommendations (this is the important part. You have to use your own ideas to suggest action
that can be taken)
