JOB SUMMARY
The Global Supply Chain Planner plays a vital role in ensuring our company has the right
products, at the right places, at the right times. Utilizing a strong understanding of supply chain
dynamics and sourcing opportunities, they will optimize inventory levels at all locations around
the globe, ensuring customers have access to the product they need, when they need it.

The Planner will regularly analyze data and negotiate with suppliers regarding production
schedules, shipping volume, methods, and destinations, as well as raw material availability to
maintain sufficient inventory levels to meet projected sales demands. An ability to construct
scenarios and implement creative solutions to intricate problems is imperative, as they will
routinely encounter complex items and significant supply and demand balancing constraints that
financially impact the organization.

The Global Supply Chain Planner will have a Customer-Centric mindset with the supporting
proficiencies to continue improving Ashley’s service to them.

This position is highly accountable for operating under minimal supervision to meet goals and
objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Execute all tactical responsibilities associated with purchase order management, buying
materials, and finished good product from global suppliers.

Negotiate with supply partners on current and future production plans (capacity commitents,
line/production capabilities) to optimize inventory levels and fulfill demand.
Identify, initate escalation measures and execute solutions to prevent or amend ever-changing
dynamic supply chain disruptions, including inventory shortages or capacity conditions that
adversely affect customer satisfaction.

Thoroughly analyze inventory and supplier production schedules, evaluating the reliability of the
supply chain flow to ensure product availability; contribute to the planning of long- and short-
term business objectives by making recommendations to optimize inventory across our supplier
network and reconcile forecasted demand with vendor production capabilities.

Proactively provide updates regarding supplier production schedule and capacity issues that
affect product availability, project completion and/or problem resolution by communicating the
issues with all affected departments and personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or industry equivalent experience –
Required
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, or other
related functions -- Preferred
2. Experience
• Supply Chain Planning: 2 years in Supply Chain Operations, in a buyer/planning or
inventory management capacity – Preferred
3. Licenses or Certifications
• ASCM/APICS – CPIM, CSCP and Six Sigma Certs -- Preferred
• APICS – CPIM or CSCP or ISM - Certified Professional in Supply Management
(CPSM) or Certified Professional in Supply Diversity (CPSD) Strategic Sourcing,
Procurement – Preferred
• Project Management: 1-year leading cross-functional supply chain projects –
Preferred
4. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strategic and global procurement perspective and planning ability
• Superior computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite,
especially MS Excel, Power BI, etc.
• Strong strategic decision making
