Safety precautions should be observed in doing physical activities to avoid injuries and accidents.
Some safety precautions are:
 Wear comfortable and proper dance attire and appropriate shoes for the activity.
 Beware of the environmental conditions and should be in a spacious area without barrier.
 Have appropriate stretching routines before and after dancing.
 Replenish extra fluids before, during and after physical activity.
 Should not carrying sharp objects that could hurt you or anyone.
 Always warm-up before doing the activity.
Do not do any of the activities without the supervision and guidance of the teacher.

The teacher will ask the following:
Preparation 1. What will comes up first in your mind when you hear the word “fitness”?
5minutes The teacher will present the word “fitness” to the class.
2. Pair-Share Activity: Let the pupils share their own thoughts about “fitness”.
Presentation
10minutes 1. Using ICT present a slideshow presentation about “dancing for fitness”.
Present the advantages of having a healthy fitness.

2. Present some various video clips of people who have a healthy lifestyle and their views about
physical fitness through dancing and safety precautions in undergoing physical activities.

Say: Dance is an activity where you move your body in time with music.
Dancing is a physical activity. You need a plan on the time spent in dancing to benefit from the
activity.

3. Present and discuss the indicators of physical fitness and the safety precautions in undergoing
physical activities.

Say: Did you know that dancers are called athletes and artists? They have the extraordinary flexibility,
muscular strength, and physical endurance athletes have.

Six Components of Skill-Related Fitness


There are six skill-related fitness components: agility, balance,
coordination, speed, power, and reaction time. Skilled athletes typically
excel in all six areas.
• Agility is the ability to change and control the direction and position
of the body while maintaining a constant, rapid motion.
• Balance is the ability to control or stabilize the body when a person
is standing still or moving.
• Coordination is the ability to use the senses together with body parts
during movement.
• Speed is the ability to move your body or parts of your body swiftly.
Many sports rely on speed to gain advantage over your opponents.
Power is the ability to move the body parts swiftly while applying the
maximum force of the muscles. Power is a combination of both speed
and muscular strength.
• Reaction Time is the ability to reach or respond quickly to what
you hear, see, or feel.

Practice Group the class into five let them act a simple role play about the indicators of physical fitness let them
