 To help students identify the elements of the Data Flow Diagram of a given system.
 Giving a hands-on practice of designing an Entity Relationship Diagram of a system from the given
specification.

Content Covered: This assignment covers Labs 01 to 04 of your course CS403P.

Online Boutique Clothing Store

A boutique clothing store wants to expand its business by launching an online store. The system
will allow customers to browse, purchase, and track orders online, while also enabling store
administrators to manage inventory, process orders, and analyze sales data.

Tasks for Assignment:

Task 01: Identify the following elements in the Data Flow Diagram (DFD) context from the
given system specification. Specify your answer in the respective row of the table. (05
Marks)

Task 02: Draw the Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) of the given system incorporating the
following elements: (15 Marks)

a) Entities involved in the system


b) Attributes of each entity
c) Relationships Between the Entities
d) Introducing the Supertype and Subtype in ERD

Guidelines:
 You can use MS Word (Drawing Canvas) or MS Visio to draw the ER Diagram.
 Use Standard UML notations (notations used in the handouts of the CS403 course)
for showing entities, attributes, and relationships.
 Use Proper naming conventions for entities, attributes and relations as given in
handouts.
 Copy/Paste your diagram in the MS Word (.doc/docx) file if you are using any
drawing tool (MS Paint, MS Visio, etc.) to submit your solution file on VULMS.
