It is with pleasure that I write this letter on behalf of Carol Bush, who I have worked with in the West Seneca
Central School District for the last two years. Ms. Bush has a vast knowledge base that I believe will serve her
well as an Elementary Principal in the Newfane Central School District. When looking at the core
responsibilities of this role, I believe you will find Ms. Bush to be highly qualified.

Ms. Bush has served as the Director of ELA, ENL, and World Languages. In this position, she has a wide
variety of responsibilities and works collaboratively with district office administrators, building principals, and
faculty to support the instructional needs of the students and staff of the district. Ms. Bush has an extensive
knowledge base of each of these areas as evidenced through prior experiences as a former staff developer,
teacher, and most recently, an elementary building principal.

Ms. Bush plans and often leads various professional development sessions for each of the areas she leads, and
most noteworthy has been her work in exploring a new reading program for our elementary level students. This
was an extensive process that involved bringing a wide representation of staff to a consensus decision. In
addition, Ms. Bush has also helped to transition our elementary teachers to a new diagnostic screener where
using data is at the center of teaching and learning. Each of these undertakings was extensive and came with its
own set of challenges, but Ms. Bush navigated those challenges with reflection and responsiveness.

With oversight of three very large areas in our district, Ms. Bush balances a variety of the various roles and
responsibilities, working diligently to thoroughly accomplish any task she is given. Ms. Bush is focused on
doing what is best for students, and keeps that at the heart of her decision-making. She has demonstrated her
commitment to education and lifelong learning, as evidenced in her recent enrollment in a Doctorate program.

For all of the reasons mentioned above, Ms. Bush is an ideal candidate for Elementary Principal in the Newfane
Central School District. Her dedication, diligence and commitment are all qualities that are essential when it
comes to this crucial role in a school district. Ms. Bush is well-equipped to handle all of the responsibilities that
