– Anderson Lima, CEO and founder Finally, the company also provides mobile application development,
of Softvaro focusing on Android and iOS platforms, and hybrid applications for tablets,
smartphones, and smartwatches. Services in this field range from assisting
clients with scoping and prototyping, to application testing and user
training.

Currently, Softvaro has 45 employees and has offices in São Paulo,

Campinas, and Rio de Janeiro. The company began a new cycle of business
expansion in 2017, with the aim of growing significantly in the coming years.

Challenge
Monitoring the Experience
To attain its aggressive growth targets, Softvaro needed detailed visibility
into the experience of its users. Understanding and monitoring user actions
and reactions was crucial for the company to ensure optimal application
performance. It was also crucial to determine new opportunities for growth,
such as existing solutions that required improvement, and new products
that could be developed, thereby optimizing its investments.

One of the main challenges faced by Softvaro was obtaining a user

perspective on the experience provided by the company’s applications.
Initially, this was obtained using a free tool, which lacked more
sophisticated features. “We realized that we needed a more complete
solution which could provide us with greater efficiency around user
experience analysis,” says Lima.

Furthermore, a more robust solution would allow Softvaro to increase

its portfolio of solutions and to enable the company to more efficiently
monitor the applications it develops and markets to its clients.

Solution
Comprehensive Features for In-Depth Analysis
In 2016, after evaluating the solutions available on the market, Softvaro
decided to implement DX App Experience Analytics. “The CA Technologies
solution offered the most comprehensive user experience monitoring,” says
Lima. The executive states that, by adopting the solution, the company
can conduct more in-depth analysis and have complete data on the usage
profile of its applications, generating reports that could improve planning
and strategy in the future.

The solution integrates seamlessly with DX Application Performance

Management, which monitors the IT environments of Softvaro’s customers.
“Together, the two solutions provide efficiency gains in monitoring, greatly
improving the management of IT environments,” says Lima.

Currently, DX App Experience Analytics is used by the company in the
testing and approval phase of its applications, highlighting areas for
analysis. “Depending on usage, we can have an in-depth view of all
functionality, which enables us to improve development, fix bugs, and make
enhancements before the application reaches the production environment,”
explains Lima.

Benefit
Broad Vision and Efficiency
After implementing and integrating DX App Performance Analytics with
DX Application Performance Management, Softvaro began monitoring its
clients’ applications, averting problems that might occur such as freezing,
slow response times, and incomplete sessions. One of the great benefits
pointed out by Lima is the possibility of monitoring all functionality and
user interactions with the application.

“This has given us a broad view of the performance of applications

developed by Softvaro, as well as potential errors in our solutions,” he
confirms. Lima also points out the following other benefits:

• Proactive handling and rapid visualization of incidents

• Improved monitoring performance indicators

• Creation of new metrics as applications evolve

• Comprehensive monitoring of bespoke applications.

“DX App Experience Analytics has provided more robust performance

metrics for development, approval and quality assurance, further improving
the quality of the solutions we develop,” says Lima.
