Meeting people: making introductions

1 Read the conversation and complete the chart below.

Amy: Hello, Gabriel. How are you? This is my friend Yuto. She is from Japan. We share an apartment.
Gabriel: Hi, Yuto. Nice to meet you. So, do you study economics with Amy?
Yuto: Hello, Gabriel. Nice to meet you, too. No, I study Art History.
Gabriel: Really? My roommate Ryan likes art, too. He studies computer graphics. He is from Singapore.
Yuto: Where are you from, Gabriel?
Gabriel: I’m from Brazil, like Amy. Oh, here is Ryan.
Ryan: Hi, everybody.
Gabriel: Hi. This is Yuto. Yuto studies Art History.
Ryan: Hi, Yuto. Nice to meet you. Do you like drawing? I love it. I draw my own comic when I have time.
Yuto: Well, I quite like drawing, but I’m not very good at it. But I love music. I love singing and dancing.
Amy: Really? Gabriel loves singing, too. He studies music, but he also has his own band. He sings and he
plays the guitar.
Yuto: That’s great! What about you, Ryan? Do you like singing?
Ryan: I don’t mind singing in a karaoke bar, when I’m with friends, but I’m not very good. But Amy loves
music, too. She goes dancing every Saturday.
Yuto: Oh, yes, she’s a great dancer!
Amy: Listen, Gabriel is playing a concert with his band on Saturday. Maybe we could all go together?
Yuto: Thanks, that’s a great idea.
