REFLECT UPON 1.

IF YOU WERE AN ARTIST, WHAT KIND

OF ARTIST YOU WANT TO BE?

IF I WERE AN ARTIST, I WANT TO

BE A LITERATURE ARTIST
BECAUSE IN WRTING I CAN
CONVEY MY EXPERIENCES. I CAN
EXPRESS MY EMOTIONS AND
FEELINGS. ON THE OTHER HAND,
WRITING IS REALLY IMPORTANT
AND FUN. THE OTHER REASON IS
THAT I CAN ALSO WRITE MY
PROBLEMS AND RANTS IN LIFE
BECAUSE FOR ME NO ONE WANTS
TO LISTEN IT.
REFLECT UPON 2.

WHY IS ART NOT NATURE?

Art is not nature because art is made by

humans and creative even if the
materials are made by nature since
doesn’t count a person by its hand.

REFLECT UPON 3.

WHY IS ART INVOLVE EXPERIENCE?

Art as experience. Art brings the
audience closer to the artists experiences
as they interpret the meaning of the
work based on their own life
experiences.
It also involve experience because artist
usually make an artwork through his
experiences in life. With that, he may
convey people of what he feels.
REFLECT UPON 4.

WHAT IS THE RELATION OF ARTS TO

HUMANITIES?
Both use words and nonverbal
expressions to interpret the human
experience. True, the arts focus more on
the act of creation itself. Whether
through performance or actual
fabrications of objects, whereas the
humanities focus more on study and
critical analysis.
(Sculpture)--David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture,
created in marble between 1501 and 1504 by the Italian artist
Michelangelo. Because of the nature of the figure it represented,
the statue soon came to symbolize the defence of civil liberties
embodied in the Republic of Florence, an independent city-state
threatened on all sides by more powerful rival states and by the
hegemony of the Medici family. The eyes of David, with a
warning glare, were fixated towards Rome where the Medici
family lived.
The story of David and Goliath is a biblical one, found in Book
1 Samuel. The teenage David had to defeat the giant Goliath, he
could not be defeated by strength since David was smaller. It
took cunning and skill to defeat someone bigger than him, and
he did so with the slingshot. Many statues before
Michelangelo’s that portray this story always show David
AFTER he has defeated the giant, with the head by his feet.
Michelangelo decided to go against the current and portray his
David BEFORE the battle. You can see in his face the
concentration of him thinking how he’s going to do it, the rock
hidden inside his right palm, the slingshot seemingly at rest on
his shoulder and him waiting for the right moment pretending to
be at ease. He could only defeat the giant if he caught him by
surprise – and he did!

C. David is made of One single block of marble from the

quarries in Carrara in Tuscany, one of the whitest in the world.
D. Michelangelo made David by carving from a block of
marble that had been partially blocked out by other sculptors and
left outdoors.
E. Many writers have described Michelangelo as the archetype of a
brooding and difficult artist, and, although he was indeed hot-tempered,
his character was much more complex than the sullen artist stereotype.
He was also deeply religious and could be very generous toward his
assistants. Michelangelo's defiant David statue has captivated the world
for centuries. Considered one of art history's major masterpieces, the
marble sculpture showcases both the artist's skill and the fine art focus
that defines the Renaissance. Since its debut in the early 16th century,
artists and art connoisseurs alike have admired the piece. Esteemed
artist, writer, and historian Giorgio Vasari noted that “no other artwork
is equal to it in any respect, with such just proportion, beauty and
excellence did Michelangelo finish it.” To understand why the sculpture
has garnered such praise, one must first understand the context in which
it was created.
F. Lifelike Anatomy. During the High Renaissance, Michelangelo
created figurative works that focused on balance, harmony, and the ideal
form. David showcases these artistic sensibilities through his lifelike,
asymmetrical posture—known as contrapposto or “counterpose”—and
his realistic and highly detailed anatomy. So it is so good.

G. The Statue of David embodies the city of Florence, symbolizing

independence and strength in the perfect image of youthful beauty.
Michelangelo's David took on new meaning shortly after its creation as
both a symbol of the Renaissance and a representation of the city itself.
Perhaps on a personal level, the artist Michelangelo was able to identify
with the concept of giant versus underdog. This may explain why his
statue of David is so massive, conveying the biblical character's spiritual
strength over that of his opponent, Goliath, the warrior leader of the
Philistines.

2. I think this is specific to each person and there are a ton of

options! Using poetry. dance. music and words to express
yourself is the simplest way in my opinion. creating a dance to a
song with meaning is how I got through many days! I think
drawing a picture and any type of art form and showing the
world and explaining your point of view is how you utilize it!

3.
A. Visual Arts-(Paintings)- The Creation of Adam –
Michelangelo,Michelangelo Shows God Creating Human Life.
The most direct meaning in Michelangelo's Creation of Adam is
the moment when God created human life, as described in the
Book of Genesis in the Christian Bible: “Then God said, “Let us
make man in our image, after our likeness.
B. Performing Arts-(Opera)- The Marriage of Figaro, It tells
how the servants Figaro and Susanna succeed in getting married,
foiling the efforts of their philandering employer Count
Almaviva to seduce Susanna and teaching him a lesson in
fidelity.
C. Popular Arts-(Contemporary Art-Painting)- Andy Warhol,
Campbell's Soup Cans, 1962, The reason he painted soup cans
is that he liked soup." He was thought to have focused on them
because they composed a daily dietary staple. Others observed
that Warhol merely painted things he held close at heart. He
enjoyed eating Campbell's soup, had a taste for Coca-Cola,
loved money, and admired movie stars.

D. Gustatory art of the Cuisine- The Loft at Montage Laguna

Beach: Pan-Seared Maine Scallops- When chef de cuisine Casey
Overton is designing a dish, he prioritizes how the guest will eat
it. He aims for every bite to be perfect and packed with flavor;
when he creates his pan-seared Maine scallops, he avoids
putting the garnishes on the opposite side of the plate, opting
instead to place them throughout the dish. The intense, juicy
flavor of roasted Concord grapes complements the sweetness of
the scallops—according to Casey, they’re “what every grape
should be.” He also blends the flavors of the earthy parsnip
puree with black truffle verjuice to create a sweet and savory
meal.
“I think it’s important when you make a dish at home to think of
balance,” Casey says. Instead of focusing on one component, he
recommends bringing together a variety of textures and flavors
that taste great together, then focus on the technique for
designing the plate so that each ingredient is a part of each bite.

E. Decorative Arts-(Jewelry-Earings) - The Hamsa Hand (by

Adara Jewelry)- A symbol of protection with multicultural roots,
the Hamsa hand has great significance to the Middle Eastern and
North African people. In Jewish culture, it’s known as the ‘Hand
of Miriam’, which represents the Hand of God. In Islamic faith,
it’s called as ‘The Hand of Fatima’, named after the daughter of
Prophet Mohammed. It carries multiple meanings, but it’s
generally associated with protection from evil. In Hebrew, the
word ‘hamesh’ means ‘five’, representing the five fingers of the
right hand on the symbol.
F. Sometimes, the fingers are depicted closed together,
believed to attract good luck. If the fingers are spread apart,
they’re believed to ward off evil. The Hamsa hand can also be
worn upside down, since this doesn’t change its symbolism. If
you want to attract luck, good fortune, health and happiness into
your life, Hamsa hand jewelry is an excellent option for you.

REFLECT UPON 1.
GIVE YOUR OWN PERCEPTION OF BEAUTY? WHAT IS
BEAUTY TO YOU? DO YOU HAVE A STANDARD TO
CONSIDER ART BEAUTIFUL?
The expression “beauty is in the eye of the
beholder” is true. Attractive things appear much
more beautiful due to our viewpoint. Not by their
appearance, but by their deeds of kindness, love,
respect, honesty and loyalty, a person is 10 times
more beautiful to me. For me, beauty is a way of
empowering yourself, a way of empowering
oneself. No, I don’t have any standard to consider
art beautiful because for me every masterpiece is
beautiful it is made by the artist with full of effort
and make it with their hearts and experiences. Art
is a way of self expression so a long as you are
expressing yourself your masterpiece is beautiful
to me.
WHAT ART FIELD WILL YOU EXPLORE?

I will choose oil painting. Its similar to writing

music. You have a fundamental simplified
foundation color that is similar to piano scales.
Style or method is comparable to impression,
realistic, cubism, pointillism, and so on. Color
colours represent subject matter, such as
happiness, sadness and melancholy. The
emotional impact of a brilliant musical score is
the same as its visual impact. Unimaginable
variations come from simple beginnings trying to
tell the tale. Painting is a kind of visual
communication that can be difficult to master.

HOW CAN YOU UTILIZE THE ARTS TO EXPRESS

YOURSELF, YOUR COMMUNITY, AND YOUR
RELATION TO OTHERS AND WITH EARTH?
Similarly, you can use the arts to represent
yourself, your community, and your relationship

faces of individuals you care about.
WHY IS ART AGELESS AND TIMELESS?
Because art is a minor and expression of human
experienced. Art allows us to express, realize,
and/or expel our dreams, passions, problems, and
joys. People today have the same thoughts and
emotions that people thousands of years ago had.

Architecture in the Philippines today is the result
of a natural growth enriched with the
absorption of varied influences. It developed
from the pre-colonial influences of our
neighboring Malay brothers, continuing on to the
Spanish colonial period, the American
Commonwealth period, and the modern
contemporary times. Three factors make an
authentic Filipino architecture,” says award-
winning Filipino architect Francisco Mañosa,
“Filipino values, Philippine climate and the
use of indigenous materials.

DESCRIBE WHAT MAKES FILM FILIPINO?

Our culture, heritage, values and most
importantly the way our families were raised are
what distinguish us from other Asians. Filipino
stands out from other people due to their
charming manner and sense of assurance.
Filipinos have a strong sense of faith when it
comes to their beliefs and principles.
DESCRIBE WHAT MAKES VISUAL ARTS FILIPINO?
At least in painting, genre used to have
significant role in establishing how Filipino a
piece of art was. The notion was the portrayal of
situations from daily life and surroundings
without idealizing them was the most tune with
the essence of the Filipino soul and land.
DESCRIBE WHAT MAKES DANCE FILIPINO?
Because dancing is the ultimate form of symbolic
expressions for Filipinos, rites are frequently
depicted through dance. It is able to express
emotions, collective memories, and their purpose
without using words.

Philippine Music is divided into four eras or
traditions, namely the Ethnic, Spanish Colonial,
American Colonial and Contemporary
tradition. The majority of Philippine Music

and festivals plays a vital and important roles in
promoting Filipino heritage and culture. It is a
good example of the talent and beauty that
Filipino possess. By telling a story in a unique
way. It also strives to entertain and educate
audiences.
WHY SHOULD ART PRESERVED? WHAT ROLE CAN
YOU PLAY TOWARDS ITS PRESERVATION?
The numerous diverse communities that make up
our planet are preserved via art, which expresses
cultural values, beliefs and identity. Every citizen
has a responsibility to respect and protect the rich
heritage of our diverse culture.
HOW DOES A MUSEUM HELP IN PROMOTING CULTURE
AND THE ARTS?
Museums focused on heritage and culture bring
people together, creating a network of support
for different minorities and groups. It is
support networks like these that prevent cultures
from disappearing and languages from dying.
