Good evening, I currently present a doubt regarding my employment contract I hope that it will
be answered by this same means, the doubt I present is the following: When you are enjoying an
annual holiday and a medical leave occurs, is the holiday suspended?

Good morning, in relation to the question raised I proceed to answer this same, hoping that my
answer can elucidate all the doubts presented, but if not please let me know by this same means.

In the event that a worker who is enjoying the holiday benefit suffers an illness that gives him the
right to medical leave, the Directorate of Labour has established in opinion 6256/279 of
09.10.95, that the suspension of the legal holiday is appropriate, basing its doctrine on the fact
that the purposes of the holiday are different from those of medical leave.
