The Bureau of Corrections

 REORGANIZATION ACT 1407 was passed into law in November 1, 1905 mandating the Philippine Commission to create the
Bureau of Prisons under the Department of Commerce and Police.
 EXECUTIVE ORDER 292, Book IV, Title III, Chapter 8, Sec. 26 created the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
 EO 292 - otherwise known as Revised Administrative Code of 1987
 Sections 1705 – 1751, RAC of 1987 - The Prison Law in the Philippines
 The BuCor (Filipino: Kawanihan ng Koreksiyon) (KK) is an agency of the DOJ which is charged with the custody and
rehabilitation of national offenders.
 The BuCor is headed by a Director appointed by the President of the Philippines.
 The agency has its headquarters in the NBP Reservation in Muntinlupa City.
