Talk about a very busy day in your life.

You should say:

- When it happened?
- Where did you go?
- What did you do?
- How do you feel at the end of the day?

☘️☘️☘️
 Part 2 starts with 30-seconds of instructions (standard).
 Use the instruction time to rethink of the important strategies for part
2. What should come to mind while the examiner is giving these
standard instructions for part 2?
 Think about ways to clearly talk about people, places, objects, ideas,
and events
 Importantly, think about coming up with a great idea, specific, easy to
talk about, lots of content.
 Remember to have the first sentence ready before the one-minute
preparation time is up. It must specifically answer the topic question.
 Must use notes and check the cue card.

STEP 1: Read the question twice

STEP 2: Identify the category

 Event:
 Time
 Location
 Attendees
 Activities
 Experience

STEP 3: Ideas

 Come up with 2-3 good ideas.

Ex: - Moving from apartment to new house

- Brother’s wedding could be challenging with vocabulary)

- First day at new job as a nurse

- First day at university

- Birth of first child (awkward and challenging)

- Hectic workday (too common and to broad)

→ MOVING FROM APARTMENT INTO NEW HOUSE

STEP 4: Notes

(Every point for the category should reflect the question)

 Time: a year ago, June 31st, 6am-1am next day

 Location: across Paris, East-West, 1 hour each way one-bed – three-
bed
 Attendees: few people, two helpers, a mover and boyfriend
 Activities: packing, loading, unpacking, cleaning, organizing, labeling,
eat no plates, order pizza, meet with landlord, drive, return truck
 Experience: exhausted, great, relived

STEP 5: First sentence

Ex: One of the longest and busiest days I have had in a long time was last
summer when I moved from my flat to my new house. Specifically, it was
June 30th when I vacated my one-bedroom apartment ad moved 30km
to the other side of town from East to the West side of Paris. I woke up
really early to get the moving truck at 6am in the morning. It took three
loads to pack all of my belongings from my apartment to my new home.
The day lasted from 5am until 1am the next day when I finally got to
bed. Fortunately, my boyfriend and one mover, who I hired for the day,
gave me a hand. Even though, I felt that we were short staffed as there
were so many boxes and heavy furniture. I had to pack up more than
thirty boxes and we spent the first half of the day going from the 6th floor
of the building down to the moving truck, often having to use the stairs
for items that did not fit into the elevator. Of course, I was so busy that
there was simply no time to cook, so I ordered pizza for everyone, and I
even remember eating slices of pepperoni pizza while driving the truck to
my new residence. The drive took about 1 hour and I even got into a
traffic jam, which was really annoying. Even though, I was getting quite
exhausted after 10 hours of packing and moving, I still needed to muster
all of my strength to clean my old apartment so that I could get my
deposit money back from my landlord. I spent the late hours of the day
cleaning windows, floors and countertops. By the time I hit the hay (sleep)
it was 1am. I felt completely drained but relieved and happy that I got
the job done, and I was moved into my place.
