After getting defeated in the first battle in 1191 CE, Muhammad Ghori
prepared himself and his army to avenge his defeat. The second battle in 1192
CE displayed the disunity between Raja Jaichandra of Kanauj and other Rajput
rulers and because of this drawback, Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated and
Delhi passed into the hands of Ghori. Later, Raja Jaichandra was also killed
and Qutbuddin Aibak was appointed as viceroy of the occupied Indian
territories. Gradually, Ghori's empire spread to other parts of India and it
marked the foundation of Turkish rule in North India.
