 The Factories & Machineries Act, 1967 (Act 139)

 The Occupational Safety & Health Act, 1994 (Act 514)
 The Construction Industries Development Act, 1994 (Act 520)

2) Explain five (5) Importance of Safety in Workplace

 Moral obligations would involve the protection of employees lives and health.
 Legal reasons for OSH practices relate to the preventive, punitive, and compensatory effects
of laws that protect workers safety and health.
 All organizations have a duty of care to ensure that employees and any other person who
may be affected by the company undertaking always remain safe.

3) List down there (3) Role of Occupational Health Disciplines.

 The availability of occupational health and safety regulations at the workplace

 The availability of active and functional occupational health and safety committees at the
workplace.
 Monitoring and control of factory hazards to health.
