Shutdown work – 31.12.22 to 2.2.23 ( Saturday / Sunday / Monday ).

To start production on Monday Night shift

1) To relocate Switch of Greasing motor. To be operated from above.

2) Refix / Redesign – Fixing of saddle shifting – to ensure that there is no scale

ingress in saddle shifting cylinder pit. ( With Box furnace in operation – Hot
scales will be falling in north of Press ).

3) Add relief valve for tilting cylinder down – set pressure at 50 bar.

4) Restrict downward pressure for lifting downward at 50 bar pressure – point

4.2

5) Replace broken studs.

6) Check studs of ram holding and replace studs if broken.

7) Check vibration levels of Hydraulic pipelines of Press & Manipulator.

8) Remove scale from Press Pit.

9) Measure clearance in spherical bush of Press.

10)Replace seals of side shifting cylinder.

11)F – 1 ; support bar + Change coupling of standby blower.

12)F – 2 ; door repair + dilution air motor + burner wall repair + back side sand
seal + Bogie brick repair + Interchange blowers of F 2 & F3.

13)F – 3 ; Back side sand seal + Repair sand seal + Hot air pipeline insulation +
Interchange blower of F 2 & F3.

14)F – 6 ; Fix compressed air line for combustion + Fix valve + Install additional
thermocouples on Top + Make additional 7th Exhaust.

15)F – 5 ; Send impellers for Balancing.

16)Quench Tank – Make manifold for water inlet at multiple locations – for better
circulation. Install 1 no submersible pump & check effectiveness. If effective –
immediately install as many additional pumps as required. We need very good
water circulation & wave effect on top surface of tank.
Dear Sir

We request your attention to your mail dtd 14.11.2022 for finding out capacity of existing
Blower.

We have already mailed our report regarding Capacity & pressure.

1) Furnace no 3 - Heat treatment 20 Ton --- Burner 514-6 -- Qty 5 Nos

Existing Blower - 2850 NM3/ Hr x 1100 mm WC , Motor 20 HP x 3000 rpm
Recommended Blower - 3500 NM3/ Hr x 1100 mm WC , Motor 25 HP x 3000 rpm

2) Furnace no 2 - Forging Furnace --- Burner 514-6 -- Qty 4 Nos

Existing Blower - 3300 NM3/ Hr x 1000 mm WC , Motor 20 HP x 3000 rpm
Recommended Blower - 2800 NM3/ Hr x 1100 mm WC , Motor 20 HP x 3000 rpm

3) Furnace no 6 - Heat treatment 20 Ton --- Burner 514-6 -- Qty 5 Nos

Existing Blower - 5800 NM3/ Hr x 800 mm WC , Motor 25 HP x 3000 rpm
Recommended Blower - 3500 NM3/ Hr x 1100 mm WC , Motor 25 HP x 3000 rpm

Remarks -
It better to interchange blowers of Fc 2 & 3
Fc no 6 blower capacity is okay but pressure is less.

Please understand that Burner performance will depend on many factors

Blower capacity & pressure

Pipeline layout & sizing
Condition of Burner Nozzle
Furnace flue duct
Damper position & condition
Recuperator design & status

List of discussions / points agreed with Viraj profiles ltd
Tolerance on Tolerance ;

1) GSSL will give forging tolerance as follows ;

Diameter ; -0 / + 4 mm on diameter. Viraj will give forging sizes considering this tolerance.
2) Viraj observed surface defects in some bars. As per Viraj these defects are due to
overheating. GSSL has informed that they have Soaked @ 1250 degrees as per TDC /
requirement of Viraj. After discussion, GSSL has agreed to Soak at 1220 degrees hereafter.
GSSL will share root cause analysis and CAPA to Viraj.
3) GSSL will submit QMS supplier self assessment / audit form. GSSL will give same in 3 days.
4) GSSL has requested to load ONE grade material in ONE Vehicle.
5) GSSL has informed that they have spare capacity at Heat Treatment shop. GSSL offered
services of Hardening & Tempering of SS 410/ 420/431 bars. GSSL assures Mechanical
properties. GSSL will submit Technical & commercial offer for same.
6) GSSL to make SOP for Forging of SS bars sent by Viraj.

GSSL to take care of following ;

1) Check 5 to 6 bars which are looking over soaked / over heated.

GSSL has already reduced reheating temperature to1220 degrees.
GSSL will do root cause & CAPA for these defects & keep VPL informed about the CAPA.

2) Mark VPL’s job no on the bars forged bars ( NOT GSSL no).

3) Do straightening for all bars. In case some bars are dispatched without straightening, GSSL
to inform VPL about same ( give identification of not straightened bars). GSSL to give their
PDI report along with dispatch.

4) GSSL will mention line item no on GSSL packing list / Invoice.

5) GSSL will give STOCK ( inventory ) report every Monday
