As a youth policy expert, i have been asked to analyze and evaluate an existing
program on youth participation and empowerment in our country. Today, I will
be discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the program and provide you
with a thorough assessment.

The program that we choose as a group to analyze is the National Youth

Commission’s Kabataang Baranggay Program. This program was established in
the 1970’s with the aim of empowering youth people in the grassroots level by
giving them a platform to voice their concerns and contribute to the
development of their baranggay also to encourage wide and active participation
of the youth in all government and non- governmental projects and activities
affecting them. The program provides opportunities for for young people to
engage in community service, leadership, training, and participate in decision-
making processes.

First let’s discuss the strengths of the kabataang baranggay program. One
of the biggest strengths of this program is that it provides a platform for young
people to actively participate in community affairs. Through their involvement
in various projects and activities, they develop leadership skills and a sense of
responsibility towards their communities. This program also promotes by
