Honorable chairs, esteemed delegates,

The ongoing Anglophone war in Cameroon has left over 6,000 dead and a million
displaced since 2016. The delegation of Australia takes a decisive stance for peace,
stability, and human rights. Past interventions provided aid and shelter but fell short in
promoting dialogue. As the delegation of Australia, we propose mandatory percentage
of Anglophones and Francophones in the Cameroonian government. Financial support
is also very significant, as it will provide the country with the necessary resources.
Withdrawal of military assistance of France is a crucial step, since contributing to
violence will only lead to more atrocities. Shelter for refugees and humanitarian aid,
is of excellent importance. An expansion of dialogue programs is essential for the
French-speaking government and English-speaking activists to consider cooperation.
Australia calls for a united effort to address this crisis, including financial backing,
mandatory Anglophone percentage in the government, the cessation of military
support, and refugee support. We ought to take action now. Thank you. We yield the
floor back to the chairs.
