Lily, a kindergartener who is five years old, has transferred to a new school where her teacher
has noticed difficulties with her verbal expression. This situation calls for an investigation of
possible causes for her problems, evaluations to identify the specifics of her language develop-
ment problems, and the application of inclusive practices and instructional strategies to support
Lily and other students with different levels of language proficiency.
Factors Affecting Lily's Challenges:
Speech and Language Development: Lily's capacity for vocal self-expression may be compro-
mised by delays in her speech and language development.
Social Anxiety or Shyness: Lily may be reluctant to talk because she is uncomfortable convers-
ing with her friends due to social anxiety or shyness.
Transition Stress: Lily may be experiencing stress as a result of her recent transfer to a new
school, which is affecting her involvement and verbalisation.
