Class 12 - Prac 4,5,6,7
Aim - To study gamete development in T.S. of Testis and V.S. of ovary using permanent slides.
Requirements - Permanent slides of T.S. of Testis and V.S. of ovary, compound microscope.
Observations -
A. T.S. of Testis -
1. The testes comprise several seminiferous tubules embedded in the interstitial tissues.
2. Thick fibrous tissues called tunica albuginea cover the testes.
3. It comprises different types of cells from the outside to the lunar in the manner given below:
Spermatogonia → Spermatocytes → Spermatids → Spermatozoa (sperms)
B. V.S. of ovary -
Primary follicle → Secondary follicle → Tertiary follicle → Graffian follicle → Corpus luteum
Observations -
1. In transverse section, the blastula appears as a sphere with a cavity, called blastocoel within it.
2. An outer layer of blastomeres is called trophoblast.
3. A cellular mass, adhered to the trophoblast is present on one end of the blastula. It is called inner
cell mass.
