Bamboo Train

Between village in Cambodia- Battambang and the capitol of the country-

Phnom Penh shuttles unusual bamboo train. This unusual means of transport is
mainly used by tourists wishing to enjoy the surrounding views. Installation of
this train is very quick, for two people it takes no more than 30 seconds. They
place two pairs of wheels on the rails, then a mat of tied bamboos is placed on
top. Finally an engine is attached to the entire structure. The bamboo train
develops speed of maximum 40 km per hour, so it is rather safe. Since there is
only one pair of rails, there is a chance that two trains will meet on it. Then you
have to take the entire structure off, let those from the opposite side pass you
and then put the train back on the rails. The entire tour costs between $3 and
$8 per person and can transport even 8 people.
