METHODOLOGY

FOR
DEMOLITION WORK
1. Scope & Objectives

The purpose of this statement is to define the work procedure for all type of Demolition work. The
statement covers execution method, QHSE requirements of the work, test procedure and method of
records.

2. References

- Project documents, viz. Quality plan, EHS plan, Technical Specification of the project.

- As per approved latest revision of drawings & as per project specification.

3. Machinery & equipment’s

I. Chipping machine, Hammer

II. Measuring Jar

III. Ladder, Scaffolding

IV. Lifting & shifting equipment’s

4. Control Measures

- Demolition work shall be carried out as per detailed design approved by Design dept. of
Client/PMC.

- The Engineer shall obtain the Quality Department’s approval for carried out to the work.

5. Work Location/Access Requirements

- Proper scaffolding should be provided for working at heights.

- Safe access and working platforms should also be given.

6. Work Methodology

Construction engineer should ensure that sufficient manpower and PNM support is available for
execution of the activity.

Step 1 :

Barricade the area where the work is to be carried out.

Step 2 :

Scaffolding on one side with the all-safety precautions & provide safe working platform at every 1 m
height.

Step 3 :

Demolition work to be carried out by manually or with the chipping machine.

Step 4 :

-Remove every brick work layer carefully.

-After completion of demolition material should be stacked properly.


-Housekeeping should be done immediate after work completion.

7. Documentation Required

- All safety checklists required during the work progress.

8. Quality assurance

- Activity shall be compliance with approved Quality plan.

9. Health and Safety Hazard Assessment

- Before starting the demolition works the site engineer, quality engineer shall, check the reliability of
the work and give their approval.

- The material should be handled properly and with precaution.

- Safety barricades or tapes should be used wherever required.
