A Message from the Pastor.

We have such good news to give you. First, I congratulate our Junior and Middle School Youth Minister. On Sunday, November 13, Mrs. Maureen Miller received the Parish Adult Award at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark. This award is in recognition of her dedication and service to the youth of our parish and also the community. It recognizes her as an outstanding adult in our parish. We are very proud of her and she so deserves this award for all of her hard work with our youth. Great job, Maureen! Second, I am so proud to offer the congratulations of the entire parish to the New Providence Marching Band. They achieved first place in Group VI A in the USSBA ew Jersey State Championship on November 5th and then they followed that up by getting First Place in Group VI A in the USSBA ational Championship on November 13th. If you have been to any of the football games, you have seen their show and they are outstanding. This is an historic accomplishment because it is the first time that they have received both First Place awards as a Group VI A Marching Band. Kudos to our children in both the band and Color Guard. You have made us all proud.

Archbishops Annual Appeal Making a Difference

Catholic Charities Emergency Food and Nutrition Network coordinates bulk food collection and distribution through a network of 75 parish-based food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in the Archdiocese of Newark. Last year, the network served over 40,000 people from 241,000 pounds of donated food. In addition, the network administers federal emergency funds for pantries in Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties. The program also sponsors the Help a Family at Christmas project, which links donors with needy families who would not be able to celebrate Christmas without outside support. Thank you for your support of the Archbishops Annual Appeal, which helps to make the Emergency Food and Nutrition Network a reality.

ONE LAST LOOK

Bulletin Insert 4 The third typical edition of the Roman Missal - November 20, 2011

Next weekend, November 27, 2011, the English speaking church in the USA will begin using a new translation of the prayers at Mass. This bulletin insert contains the new texts to be used by the people. Please familiarize yourself with them for use at next weeks Masses. Prepared by the Office of Divine Worship www.RomanMissalNewark.org Greeting Priest: The Lord be with you. People: And with your spirit. Penitential Act (Confiteor) I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Gloria Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Preparation of the Gifts May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. Preface Dialog The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.
