Youth on the Move

Internship Report - Day 1:

Date: April 8, 2024
Location: St. Xaviers School and Jr. College, Kanjurmarg & Youth on the
Move Office, Bhandup

Activities:
Morning (10 pm) : Introduction to Youth on the Move (YOTM):
 Met Rohit Mishra sir and received an overview of the NGO's vision and
activities.
 Learned about the Election Commission Program conducted at St.
Xaviers School.
 Guest Speaker: Maria Ma'am, a Cardiac Surgeon from Italy, shared her
experiences in healthcare.
 Interaction with Election Commission Staff and Officers.
Afternoon (2 pm):
YOTM Office Visit:
 Rohit sir briefed us on the upcoming Women Empowerment and Skill
Development initiative.
 Participated in a brainstorming session to develop ideas for the project.
Field Survey:
 Conducted a door-to-door survey in the slums near the YOTM office.
 Spoke with over 30 women to understand their perspectives on skill
development programs and identify potential social stigmas.
 Received positive feedback from the community members and ended the
day at 5:30 pm on a high note.

Outcomes:
  Gained a comprehensive understanding of YOTM's mission and
activities.
 Contributed to the development of a new women empowerment initiative.
 Gathered valuable data through the field survey to inform the project's
design.

Overall:
The first day of the internship with Youth on the Move was productive and
enriching. We gained valuable knowledge about the organization, its initiatives,
and the community it serves. The brainstorming session and field survey
provided an opportunity to contribute directly to YOTM's work. The positive
feedback received during the survey was a motivating end to the day.
