DAY 4: ONE – WAY ANOVA

Subtopic: What is One-Way ANOVA

Explanation:

One-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) is an extension of the independent t-test. It is used to determine whether there are
any statistically significant differences between the means of the three or more independent (unrelated) groups.

Subtopic: REQUIREMENTS
Explanation:

 There must be only one independent variable (categorical variable, nominal or ordinal)
 There should be more than two levels for that independent variables. (e.g. Low, Medium, High)
 There must be only one dependent variable (measured at the interval or ratio level, it is continuous).

Subtopic: ASSUMPTIONS
Explanation:

 The population from which the samples were taken are normally distributed.
 Homogeneity of varience
 The observations are all independent of one another
 There should be no significant outliers

Subtopic: FLOW CHART

Explanation:

The flow before we can use the Anova, we must first do a normality test. There are two types of normality tests: Kolmogorov
Smirnov and Shapiro Wilk. If the test for normality is satisfy, we can proceed to the test for homogeneity of variance (Levene's test),
and if it is satisfy, we can use the One-way ANOVA. However, if the normality test is satisfy but the homogeneity of variance test is
not satisfy, we will use the Welch or Brown forsythe. If we do not satisfy the Normality test, we will utilize Kruskal-Wallis instead of
ANOVA.
