1. What were the changes made in adopting the K to 12 Science Curriculum?

K-12 systems aim to improve Filipino students' mathematical, scientific, and linguistic competence.
Prepare the Filipino child for the basics of working life. The old Philippines saw a lot of high school
graduates who could not enter college because it was costly. But these high school graduates lacked the
needed work-life skills. In doing so, the old high school student was sadly working below his potential.
With the K-12 comes the STEM curriculum that gives Filipino children a choice of learning Life Sciences,
Accounting, Engineering, Psychology, Statistics, and Computer Programming. Thus, the Filipino child,
even when pressured by time and cost due to financial or family constraints, is now better equipped to
handle the needed work skills and consequently better equipped to contribute to society.

2. State the aim of the K to 12 science curriculums.

The science curriculum aims to help children develop basic scientific ideas and an understanding of the
biological and physical aspects of the world and the processes through which they grow this knowledge
and comprehension.
