SHOW CAUSE NOTICE

1. As per the information available with the Department, you are identified as Non-
filer with potential tax liabilities for the A.Y. 2016-17 by analyzing the following
information of transaction entered by you:

During the course of proceedings u/s 148A of the Act, you have been afforded
opportunities to submit your explanation in respect of the above transactions. As you
have failed to submit the same, order u/s 148A(d) of the Income Tax Act has been
passed with the approval of specified authority and proceedings u/s 147 of the Act.
Thereafter the case was re-opened by issue of 148 notice on 31.03.2023, which were
served on assessee on his last known address.

2. Thereafter notice U/s. 142 (1) of the act, issued to the assessee on
11.09.2023, 07.11.2023 & 28.11.2023, which were also served on assessee on his
last known address and mail ID of the assessee :
PEDDURICHARIPRASAD@GMAIL.COM, however the assessee has neither filed reply nor
requested for adjournment.

3. During the course of assessment proceedings immovable property

transaction executed by the assessee, were called from Joint Sub Registrar-I,

Hyderabad (South). The Joint Sub Registrar-I, Hyderabad (South) has submitted
registered document No. 1635/2015 dated 09.04.2015. On verification of the
purchase deed it is noticed that the assessee has purchased one immovable
property i.e. Flat No. 401 in fourth floor, having built up area of 2532 Sq. feets,
including common area and 02 car parking, in residential apartment in “ Bhaskara
Signature” in premises GHMC No. 7-1-636/37, on plot No. 37, in survey No. 123, the
Model Co-operative Housing society limited, Bahalookhanguda, Erragadda,
Hyderabad, for consideration of Rs. 86,00,000/-. On further verification of the sale
deed it is noticed that the assessee has taken bank loan amounting to Rs. 68.00
Lakhs for purchase of the above property however rest of the payment source are not
explained or written in the sale deed. The assessee neither filed return for the year
under consideration nor explained source of property purchased amounting to Rs.
18.00 Lakhs

5. In view of the same, you are requested show cause why investment made in
immovable property amounting to Rs. 18,00,000/- should not charged as per the
provisions of section 69 of the act, - unexplained investment, for the year under
consideration.

6. Your objections/submissions, if any, in this regard may be submitted to the

undersigned by 19.01.2024 failing which the assessment proceedings will be
finalised as per the information available on record & no further opportunity were
afforded to the assessee.
