What do celebrities think about fame?

Today a lot of people want to be a celebrity. They take part in TV shows like America’s Got
Talent because they hope to become famous. However, what do celebrities think? Was it their
ambition to be famous? We did some investigation. Do you want to know what we found?
Emma Watson played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films. Emma said in an interview
with Jessica Chastain that she was was very surprised when she became famous at the age of
11. She wasn’t ready to share the details of her personal life with people. She still doesn’t want
to today. This is why she says her privacy is very important. She doesn’t like taking photos
with fans as then people know where she is and what she’s doing. However, she is happy to
answer fans’ questions when she can.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster is another popular actor. He played Sam, a cute young boy, in Love
Actually in 2003, and this was when his fame started. More recently he played Newt in The Maze
Runner series. Thomas Brodie said in an interview with The Scotsman that he had no plans to
become famous; he just decided he liked acting, and he was lucky to be in good films. He thinks
fame is exciting but also a little strange. The lifestyle of flying to different places and doing lots
of interviews is ok for a short time, but Thomas likes to get home and relax with his family.
BTS is a South Korean K-pop band which started in 2013. By 2017 they were famous worldwide
and they have thousands of fans. Suga, one of the seven singers in the band, talked about
fame. Suga said in an interview with the Showbiz Cheatsheet that he thinks that although you
can have some great adventures as a celebrity, you miss the normal life. He says he’s jealous of
people who can go shopping or meet friends because it’s difficult for him to do that.
As you can see, some celebrities are not totally happy about being stars. They find celebrity
life a little unusual. What about you? Are you ready for fame?
