What is the skeletal
system?
The skeletal system works as a
support structure for your body. It
gives the body its shape, allows
movement, makes blood cells,
provides protection for organs and
stores minerals.
Greek word skeletos, meaning
"dried up."
Functions

Provide structural support to the body, protects
organs
02. Ligaments
Connects bones together, stabilizing them at joints
03. Tendons
Connect bone to muscle

01. Hyaline Cartilage
Allows bones to move smoothly past other at joints
03. Fibrocartilage
Is a Cushion within joints which reduces stress
