EURO 2016 COMPETITION

Dear all in 1554, (Dear Fred, Millie, Joanna, Anne)

The UEFA European Championship 2016 (EURO 2016) hosted by France will be taking place from 10 June to 10 July 2016.

For this reason we (Bill, Thomas, Patrick) are organizing the traditional directorate competition to guess (i.e. bet on) the ordering of the
first 4 teams.

A table for entries of selections of the teams can be found on the glass door at the junction of 1554's two main corridors, across from the
lift, just down from Vincent's office (5423).

The initial selection of 4 teams (before 21.00 on 10 June) should not include 4 teams from the same group (A-F) since at most only
three teams from any group can survive the group stage.

Participation: 10 Euro

Revision of the selection of the 4 teams possible before the knock-out phase (last 16) starts on 25 June (15:00) for an extra 10 Euro.

Rules for the EURO 2016 competition: ==>

The winner is to be determined by a process of elimination according to the following ordered steps:

1) Selecting those participants who have correctly predicted the CHAMPION.

2) Selecting from those participants remaining after step 1), those who have also correctly predicted the VICE CHAMPION.

3) Selecting from those participants remaining after step 2), those who have also correctly predicted one losing semi-finalist.

4) Selecting from those participants remaining after step 3), those who have also correctly predicted the other losing semi-finalist.

5) IF: Step 1) is not possible because no one has correctly predicted the CHAMPION

THEN: The process of elimination will begin at step 2) ... and correspondingly for the cases where also the VICE CHAMPION, or a
losing semi-finalist have not been correctly predicted by any participant.

6) IF: There is still no winner after step 5)

THEN: The participant(s) with the largest number of correct teams in the first 4 placings, irrespective of order, will be considered the
winner(s).

7) If more than one participant remains after step 4)/ step 6) they themselves must decide further ...

The UEFA European Championship 2016 group phase ended yesterday evening and is followed by a break today with no matches at
all.

As indicated in the initial E-mail concerning our competition revision of the selection of the 4 teams will be possible before the start of
the knockout phase (last 8) on Saturday 25 June at 15:00 for an extra 5 Euro per team --> complete revision of all 4 teams for 10 Euro.
If you wish to make a revision let us know today or tomorrow - decisions at the last minute would probably best be made by E-mail.

The UEFA European Championship 2016 ended yesterday evening with **** as Champions and **** as Vice Champions.

The remaining two semi-finalists were *** and ***.

The winners of the competition are therefore:

A (-champions; - semi finalist)

B ( - champions; - semi finalist)
C (- champions; - semi finalist)

We will hold a short presentation today at *** pm in / next to *** to congratulate A, B, C.
