Please provide a short biography and a photograph of you for introduction during the conference and
posting on the public website:

My name is Dr. Suman Sinha and I am a senior Post-Doctoral Fellow with Tata Institute of
Fundamental Research Hyderabad. I am trained medicinal chemist, who currently use molecular
dynamics simulation codes to understand biologically important molecular recognition
mechanisms. I enjoy using my skills to contribute to the exciting advances that happen every day
at drug discovery community. I have graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2017 with
Doctorate in Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Technology under the tutelage of Professor Dr.Habibah
A.Wahab.

I took Post-Doctoral position at TIFRH immediately after my doctoral studies and was promoted
to my current position in May of 2019. I am obsessed with all technological advances related to
drug design algorithms and softwares and I spend my free time reading on hardware optimization
for speed up-scaling of molecular dynamics packages. Embarkment of graphical processor units
(GPU) technology for high-throughput molecular dynamics towards understanding of structural
biology fascinates me the most.

I was born and brought up in industrial city of Durgapur, West Bengal, India. My initial schooling
happened in Durgapur before I moved to Berhampur University to study pharmacy. My academic
interests gradually grew more towards computational medicinal chemistry during my master’s
degree (Vellore Institute of Technology) which eventually motivated me to PhD in the same field.
My PhD was a mixture of computational approaches combined with wet lab experiments which
again provided me sufficient skills pertaining to preliminary stages in a typical drug discovery
project.

I enjoy walking and that is the reason I have become an avid trekker since last few years. I have
participated in trek journeys to Panchachulli peaks and Sandakphu Phalut in the Indian Himalayas
as an adult and Mathaburu and Ayodhya Hills in Purulia, West Bengal when I was young. Besides,
I am a student of Indian classical music and I have started to learn sarode since last few years under
the tutelage of Ust.Ashish Khan within the tenets of Senia Maihar Gharana.
