Project Plan Report

below guidelines. In your report, you should make use of headings, paragraphs, and subsections as
appropriate. The expected word limit is 5000-10000 words, although you will not be penalized for exceeding
the total word limit, do your best to be within the word limit. Your report should be:
In the form of a Microsoft Word (.docx) file uploaded to the university’s eLearning system.
Written in a formal business style using single spacing and font size 12, of times roman.
Must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system.
Submitting the declaration form separately is required.
Presentation:
Prepare a final power point presentation that describes your Project Plan.

Assignment Brief and Guidance
You have recently joined an organization as an Information Systems Specialist. As a member of a task force,
you were asked to evaluate the organization’s current business processes in order to find an opportunity for
automation.

PART 1
Automate a Business Process
Select a health organization and then identify a business process that could benefit from some level of
automation.
Describe the level of automation in the selected business process. Levels of automation include
Decision Support, Decicion Augmentaion, and Decision Automation.
Compare the major variants of the SDLC.
Describe how the selected organization provides context for the selected SDLC variant.
Write a system request for the identified business process.
The system request should include the following five elements:
Project Sponsor
Business Need
Business Requirements
Business Value
Special Issues or Constraints
Feasibility Analysis
Prepare a feasibility analysis for the automation of the above business process. Your analysis should include
the following dimensions:
Technical Feasibility

Explain the following items:


Familiarity with the business application
Familiarity with the proposed technology
Project size
Integration requirements
Economic Feasibility
Calculate the Net Present Value (NPV) of the proposed process improvement. Attach a
spreadsheet that shows the project cash flow and the calculated NPV
Show Sensitivity of Cost of Capital for 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% values
Estimate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the proposed system
Organizational Feasibility
Describe how the proposed system align with organization’s strategy and goal. Determine who will
resist and who will champion the new system. Identify major stakeholders, list their roles, and
describe what you plan to do with each stakeholder to enhance organizational feasibility.
Analysis Phase
Include the following items in your analysis.
Prepare a list of functional and non-functional system requirements (See section 2.1-3)
Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs)
Evaluate whether the DFD is decomposed to the proper level.
Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)
Project Plan
The project plan should contain the following sections.

Prepare a final power point presentation that describes your Project Plan. You will be required to present this
part in class before the end of the semester.
