What communities am I a part of?

Growing up, the question “What do you prefer, rural or urban?” is not new to me. As a

person who has lived in a province all my life of course I would choose rural because it’s

peaceful and has a low population density. The municipality of Binalonan, where people live

here is the heart and soul of the town because they have strong community ties in which

everyone shares experiences, traditions, and values.

When I think about the word “local” it means my hometown which is the Binalonan.

However, I am also part of other communities like an organization built with my peers called

USISA (Utak at Sining: Sabel). As a resident of Binalonan, “local” transcends mere geography; it

signifies the people of my hometown, the daily routines, and the traditions that make it unique.

I wish I volunteered to clean our barangay whenever there’s a program implemented, I

think that’s the one thing I would like to change in my life to help and ensure the cleanliness of

our environment. I realized the impact I could make by dedicating my time and effort to

participating in cleaning programs within my community will have a healthy environment not

just for me but for all people that live in our community.
