You may notice that some signal words appear in several patterns of development. This
means that a signal word is not limited to a specific pattern. The use of a signal word is based
on the context. There are also other terms that are not listed but function as signal words for a
certain pattern of development. It is important that you know how to use conjunctions
correctly so it may serve its purpose.

Barrot (2016) explains that when it comes to writing, you can create a well-written text if
you use a critical approach. Thus, the use of patterns of development definitely helps you to
achieve a composition that communicate effectively to readers. If you know how to analyze and
evaluate, your text has a clear purpose by using critical thinking, you can distinguish good and
bad sources. By this, you know which information to use. This makes your written text credible
and informative.

Spams refer to inappropriate and irrelevant messages indiscriminately sent to numerous

recipients via the internet. They are considered as junk mail, and most contain malwares and
links used for phishing. There are two types of spam based on the source. The first one is the
unsolicited bulk e-mail which is sent in large quantities. The second type is unsolicited
commercial e-mail which is sent to promote something, usually without the receiver agreeing
to receive these types of advertisements. The first spam was sent by Gray Thuerk in 1978 to
600 recipients.

There are many reasons why I prefer to live in the Metro. First and foremost, it has many
exciting places. For example, you can go to Makati if you want to go shopping. If you want to
experience the night life, you can visit the bars along Tomas Morato and Malate. In terms of
job opportunities, the Metro houses most of the top companies that offer the best-paying jobs.

Text 3
In the wild, there lived three young women who decided to build a shelter. However, they
had different preferences, so each of them decided to build their own house. And so it was that
opposite to a river, the youngest girl built a house using leaves and twigs. Adjacent to the
youngest girl’s house is the shelter of the eldest. She built a house using logs and she
constructed it near the spring so she can easily access drinking water. In the middle of the
forest, the middle child built her house. It stands between two hills and is quite far from her
two sisters’ houses, but she was contented.

Exposing yourself to the sun or temperatures higher than 25°C does not protect you from
COVID-19. You can catch COVID-19, no matter how sunny or hot the weather is. Countries
with hot weather have reported cases of COVID-19. To protect yourself, make sure you clean
your hands frequently and thoroughly, and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.

Thermal scanners cannot detect COVID-19. Thermal scanners are effective in detecting
people who have a fever (i.e., have a higher than normal body temperature). They cannot
detect people who are infected with COVID-19. There are many causes of fever. Call your
