From Eng.

To Ar:

Climate change poses a serious threat to peoples’ livelihoods and to ecosystems

across the globe.

Addressing climate change requires concerted action at the international level.

Under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

(UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement, Parties meet regularly to advance the
international framework for addressing climate change, including the
mitigation of climate change, the adaptation to a changing climate, and the
support given to developing countries.

The upcoming 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) will take place in
Sharm El-Sheikh (Egypt) from 6 to 18 November 2022.

We acknowledge that the twenty years that have passed since

the United Nations Conference on Environment and
Development in 1992 have witnessed, to varying degrees,
progress in areas including sustainable development and poverty
eradication.
We emphasize the need to make progress in fulfilling the
commitments made previously.
We also acknowledge the need to accelerate progress in
bridging the gaps between developed and developing countries
in the field of development and to seize opportunities to achieve
and create sustainable development through economic growth,
economic diversification, social development and environmental
protection.
To achieve this end, we emphasize that creating an enabling
environment at the national and international levels and
continuing and strengthening international cooperation,
especially in the fields of finance, debt, trade, technology
transfer, as agreed, are still essential.
