CIRCULAR NO. 054 / 2023-24
Dear Parents,

The School will be reopening after Winter Vacation on ___________. Since the School does not provide
transportation services, most of the students studying in the School are dropped and picked up by their
parents. Some of the parents on account of logistics issues have hired one or another means of transport to
drop and pick up their wards.

In the interest of the safety and security of the students using ‘Hired Means’ of Transportation, here are
some of the guidelines which should be followed:

1. Use only legal / Government approved means of transport for the children and follow adequate
safeguards.

2. Ensure that the vehicle for transportation of your ward has valid documentation and is not overloaded.

3. The advertisements / appeals by the Transport Department and Delhi Traffic Police regarding the
vehicles ferrying school children should be adhered.

4. Keep a copy of the ID of the driver and other documents like driving license of the driver, registration
copy of the vehicle etc.

5. Get the driver’s character and antecedent verifications done and keep a copy of the same. Delhi police has
a link to give character verification.

6. Among the parents using same mode of transportation pool your services and have a lady present in the
transporting vehicle, especially if girls or small children are being transported.

In case of self-hired transport though it is everybody’s responsibility to ensure the safety of the
children but the hiring authority will have to take prime responsibility of transportation of the
children to and from school.

Also instruct your ward to follow certain discretionary acts for their safety and security:

1. Not to talk to strangers.

2. Not to take any edible items like, drinks, prasad etc. from strangers.

3. In the event of their mode of transport not turning up to school for afternoon duty, they are to report
to the School office and NOT go on their own.

4. In the event of any suspicious regular stalling (some body following them) then they are to inform
you or School office.

These guidelines can help us to keep our children safe. Remember that vigilance will only ensure reliable
safety. Also please educate your child that if your ward feels threatened by any strangers they are to make
noise / approach and inform the nearest group of adults for safety.
